As hit-and-run shows, pedestrian accidents can be deadly

With Indiana car accidents involving a bicyclist or a pedestrian, there is a significant chance that there will be major injuries and even death. The vulnerability of those who are not riding in a vehicle places them in serious jeopardy in a crash. Because motor vehicle accidents can cause so much damage to an individual and a family, it is important that those who were affected know what to do in its aftermath. This is particularly true in the event of a hit-and-run with a pedestrian.

A man died after he was hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of a convenience store. The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. Law enforcement stated that the surveillance video showed a dark Ford truck hit the 46-year-old victim. The driver exited his vehicle, looked at the man on the ground, got back into the vehicle and fled the scene. The 46-year-old driver was tracked down at his home. He claimed that he did not realize that he had hit someone until he stopped and saw the man. He stated that he "freaked out" and fled. The truck was left at the home or a relative and the driver went to his own home. He was arrested. The man who was hit was given medical assistance and CPR at the scene before he was taken to the hospital, but later died.

When there is a car crash, there is the possibility that those involved will suffer minor to severe injuries. There is a chance that the accident is severe enough that there will be a death. With any accident, there can be medical costs, lost time at work, and the need for rehabilitation or even long-term care. The injured person might never return to normal. With pedestrian accidents, the risks are exacerbated. A fatality can leave a family without a loved one, cause emotional and financial pain, and leave them wondering how they can go on. This is why it is imperative to consider a legal filing.

In this accident, a man was hit by a vehicle in a convenience store parking lot and later died. The driver of the vehicle ran from the scene and was later arrested. With the circumstances of this incident, it is important that the family understand their rights to seek compensation with help from an experienced attorney.
