Biography
Education
Nick Stein was raised in New Albany, Indiana, graduated from Providence High School in 1967, then earned a Bachelor of Science in Education at Indiana University/Bloomington. Nick's Law Degree is from the University of Louisville School of Law.
Military Service
Nick enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a Spec 5 Sergeant and Medic in Germany. After serving three years, Nick returned to civilian life and entered the University of Louisville School of Law on the United States G.I. Bill.
Family
While attending law school classes, Nick worked as a law clerk and married his fiancée, Deanne. Nick and Deanne have three grown children, Katie, Amy, and Nick, Jr.
Community Service
- Nick was elected Floyd County, Indiana, Prosecuting Attorney in 1983.
- While Prosecuting Attorney, Nick served as Vice President of the Indiana Prosecuting Attorney Council and served on the Ethics Committee.
- Nick was Floyd County Bar Association President – 1988-89.

Professional Law Practice
Nick has built his practice in personal injury law and medical malpractice. Since becoming an attorney, Nick has presented cases in more than forty jury trials, both civil and criminal. He has argued cases before the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court, including Mayhue v. Sparkman, which helped to clarify medical malpractice law.
Whether by jury trial, mediation, arbitration, or negotiation, Nick is adept at achieving satisfying results for his clients.
