Where We Are

The main office for the Law Office of Nick Stein is located in picturesque downtown New Albany, Indiana, at 810 East Market Street.

The building was constructed in 1867 and originally housed the Independent German-American School. As the decades passed, the school building fell into disrepair. When Nick purchased the building in July 1996, he knew he had found a diamond in the rough. Renovations began immediately.

Nick planned to use the building as office space for his growing practice. Determined to create a functional office while maintaining the historical integrity of the building, Nick faced many challenges during the project. With a lot of sweat and creativity, the original plaster walls were preserved, as was much of the woodwork.

In July 1997, the building renovation was complete. No longer the Independent German-American School, Nick rechristened it the Stein Building, and it has been his office since 1997.

The building was constructed in 1867.

Today, the building is restored to its original quality.
